Cyclists Gather Food for those in Need at Cranksgiving

Sat 11/23 @ 10:30AM

Once again, Cleveland’s growing community of dedicated bicyclists is getting together to make sure everyone, including needy families and seniors, has a hearty Thanksgiving dinner, with a 8th annual Cranksgiving, hosted by Bike Cleveland and Bike Parma.

Here’s the drill: riders gather at home base, the Parma Hunger Center, to register, grab some coffee and donuts, and get a map of nearby grocery stores. Then they head out to buy some of the suggested items. Riders typically spend about $15, but you can buy as much as you can carry on your bike or trailer (Bike Cleveland has a couple of trailers available for reservation if you’re planning on making a large purchase and don’t have your own; contact Jason@bike-Cleveland.org).

Get back to the Parma Hunger Center around 1-1:15pm, with a closing program and group photo op at 1:30. Addition food donations are welcome if you want to bring non-perishable items from your own stash.
