Meet Artist JoAnn DePolo “In the Square”

Artist JoAnn DePolo began her career in North Olmsted, where she still works in various capacities with the arts. Now DePolo is known internationally among art collectors for her unique interpretations on cityscapes, water scenes and bold abstracts.

DePolo’s art will be on display on the second floor of 200 Public Square, featuring her iconic Cleveland landscapes with unique color schemes and textured paint. The event will also host a special exhibit called Display the Music, which includes paintings inspired by her twin sons’ orchestral music. Jared and Andrew DePolo are composers who work on everything from film scores to the ques you hear at Cleveland Brown’s games. In this selection of paintings, JoAnn DePolo combines visual and musical art forms as sound is captured in multihued layers of paint.

During the opening celebration, meet the artist and enjoy fresh coffee and pastries from Bloom Bakery. This kickoff event is on Thu 3/28, from 7:30-9:am, but the exhibit will remain until 4/30.

Catch her artwork and expertise year round at the JoAnn DePolo Studio & Gallery, which is known for its dynamic original concept fine art, individualized painting instruction and professional development. DePolo has also served on administrative boards and advisory committees for a number of nonprofit arts organizations including the City of North Olmsted Arts Commission. She is the author of Making it as an Artist, which offers colorful philosophical guidance along with black and white practical tips to support artists and creative minded.
