Guitarist/vocalist Miss Melvis and drummer/percussionist/electronics master John Scully, who comprise Duo Decibel System, are both long-time veterans of the Cleveland music scene, playing in bands such as Chump, the Heathers, Flat Can Company, Numbskull and Starvation Army. In late 2017, they released Slow Wave, featuring mostly instrumental tracks they described as “Creepy funk, black melodies, electromagnetic Latin, chilled bombs, modular hissing, dobro surf, elementary particle slides, big-banged trumpet, loved … and not so loved.”
Believe it or not, this noisy music machine is going to play at a bookstore — Visible Voice Books in Tremont. And to make the evening even weirder, local acoustic singer/songwriter John McGrail, also a longtime fixture in Cleveland clubs, will provide an opening set. Talk about contrasts! The evening is free and open to all.
