Art museums these days are for more than just looking at stuff on the walls. Many of them are actively promoting ways to engage visitors, especially children, with the creative process.
That’s what the Akron Art Museum is doing with Family Day: Backyard Art-BQ. There’ll be all sorts of cookout-themed activities such as making sunbaked clay pies, printmaking on-the-cob and painting with edible molasses paint. There’ll even be a sprinkler kids can run through to clean up afterwards. And the Wadsworth-based Jammin’ Jumpers jump rope team will perform from 12-12:30pm.
