Spring Is Coming: Huron’s Mulberry Creek Herb Farm Opens for the Season

Tue 3/12 @ 10AM-5PM

One of the signs of impending spring for many northeast Ohio gardeners is the opening of Mulberry Creek Herb Farm for the season.

The family-owned organic farm in Huron, which has been operating since 1995, features an overwhelming array of herb varieties, including ones you’ve probably never heard of and a huge range of choices among the ones you have, such as mints, oreganos, sages, thymes, rosemaries, lavenders and basils.

In its huge new retail greenhouse, you’ll find all of those, along with an equally extensive number of miniature “fairy” plants and accessories to design your own fairy garden, plus miniature fruit trees, unusual plants such as rice, tea and hops, succulents, pelargoniums (aka scented geraniums), and, a little later in the season, vegetable starters. Planters, seeds, tools and potting soil are all available too.

Plan to take some time to enjoy the beautiful grounds, which include a picnic shelter, gardens and tiny fairy buildings and a toy train, situated around the premises.

They’re open Tuesday-Saturday 10am-5pm, as well as Sundays 1-5pm in May. Look for their special events too such as their annual herb fair in June.
