Latin Jazz Camp Students & Faculty Perform at Cleveland Museum of Art

Fri 6/14 @ 7PM

If Cleveland hasn’t presented the key to the city to New Yorker Bobby Sanabria, they certainly should. The Latin jazz percussionist seems to always be in town, usually for something involving the Roberto Ocasio Foundation, honoring his former Berklee College of Music classmate who died in a car accident in 2004. Since then, he’s served as a honorary trustee of the foundation and he returns each summer to lead the annual Roberto Occasion Latin Jazz Music Camp.

He’s coming back this time to lead an evening of Latin jazz including Afro-Cuban Brazilian and Puerto Rican rhythms at the Cleveland Museum of Art’s Gartner Auditorium. He’ll be joined by students and faculty from the Latin Jazz Camp’s big band and special guest latin/jazz/salsa pianist Oscar Hernandez.

It’s free and open to the public — and it’s family-friendly, so bring the kids. Seating is first come, first served, no reservations required.
