The Baseball Heritage Museum Marks Jackie Robinson Day with Screening of 1950 Bio Film

April 15 was Opening Day for Major League Baseball in 1947 — the season that Jackie Robinson, major league baseball’s first modern-era black player, made his debut with the Dodgers. It’s now celebrated each year as Jackie Robinson Day.

The Baseball Heritage Museum will celebrate to, a couple of days early, with a screening of the 1950 biographical film The Jackie Robinson Story, which starred Robinson himself and Ruby Dee as his wife Rachel. It’s free and open t all, and there’ll be free popcorn. Bring your own peanuts and Crackerjack!
