There’s a reason Tremont’s Prosperity Social Club has “social club” in its name. It’s a hangout, a place to go with friends and even meet new friends.
It’s also known for its outstanding food. And it may be just what you need on New Year’s Day when the leftovers in your house are looking pretty tired. Their New Year’s Brunch features everything from Hoppin’ John soup, a variation on a traditional New Year’s dish, to shrimp and grits, port schnitzel, buttermilk pancakes and salmon cake eggs Benedict — covering a wide range of tastes, regions and ethnicities.
Rinse it down with a bloody mary or mimosa, or Prosperity’s own tribute to the new year, the “Hey, Nineteen!” cocktail, made from Seagrams 7 Blended Whiskey, sweet vermouth, cranberry juice and ginger beer.
“Our barkeep special ‘Hey, Nineteen’ promises to be so refreshing you won’t realize it is sneaking up on you,” says Prosperity owner Bonnie Flinner. “And you’re welcome to step through our door in a cozy sweatshirt or last night’s party dress—there’s no judgment here, just warm food and a crackling fire.”
