No Exit New Music Ensemble Kicks Off Its 10th Season With Five Premiere Works

Fri 11/30 @ 8PM

Sat 12/8 @ 3PM

Fri 12/14 @ 8PM

One of Cleveland’s many stellar small music ensembles, No Exit new music ensemble is devoted to presenting newly written works, including works it’s commissioned.

It opens its tenth season with a program of world premiere pieces by five local composers: Hong-Da Chin (The Arc of a Tear), Ty Emerson (Darkling, I Listen), Colin Holter (Pallor), James Praznik (Screaming Songs), and No Exit artistic director Timothy Beyer (She Was My Only Child). They’ll be joined by saxophonist Noa Even and drummer Stephn Klunk – collectively known as Patchwork — on Screaming Songs and She Was My Only Child.

“We are fortunate that a renaissance of sorts is taking place here now to spotlight the many amazing and talented artists who reside in northeastern Ohio,” says Beyer. “There’s no question that Cleveland’s arts community can and should be a source of great pride for its residents. We are so pleased to present this free concert of unforgettable new music by local composers to our community. Cleveland deserves to be heard!”

The first performance is this Friday at Cleveland State University’s Drinko Recital Hall. Subsequent performances take place at the BOP STOP (Sat 12/8 @ 3pm) and SPACES Gallery (Fri 12/14 @ 8PM). Like all No Exit performances, they’re free.
