Playwrights Local’s New “Documentary Play” Looks at Human Trafficking

Fri 11/22- Sun 12/15

Cleveland writer Christopher Johnston has created what’s been referred to as a “documentary play.” Bodies for Sale is based on interviews with Cleveland women who are survivors of human trafficking, as well as social services professionals and advocates who work on their behalf. It also incorporates stories from Cuyahoga County task force members such as law enforcement agents, prosecutors, and judges who talk about what’s being done to combat trafficking and bring the traffickers to justice.

Playwrights Local is presenting the world premiere of the script with director Terrence Spivey overseeing the production. It takes place at the Creative Space at Waterloo Arts, Fridays and Saturdays @ 7:30pm and Sundays @ 2:30pm, through 12/15. Tickets are $18 for adults, $15 for seniors and $12 for students.
