Visit Multiple Arts Locations Via Trolley During the Sparx City Hop

Sat 8/18 @ 11AM-6PM

Want to check out some of Cleveland’s art centers? There’s no better time to do so than during Sparx City Hop when free rides on Lolly the Trolley will transport you from one neighborhood to another to stop at galleries, artist studios and other arts-related locations.

Pick up the trolley at the main hub at Playhouse Square, or one of the stops along the way, and get off at the Flats for the Flats East Ban Festival of the Arts, in the Warehouse District to check out the Worthington Yard Apartments’ residential gallery the Yards Project, or in Hingetown to stop at the Transformer Station and SPACES Gallery. In the Superior Arts district, you can drop in at such spaces as Loftworks Gallery, the Artcraft Building, the Tower Press Building and Superior Hot Glass. And before you start out, right at Playhouse Square, the Cleveland Bazaar will have a market, Cleveland’s Studio To Go will offer art-making and historical walking tours will be available.

There’ll be one special thing you don’t often have a chance to do: tour the Memorial Bridge tunnel and Subway Station, a fascinating, disused space where several fondly remembered edition of the Ingenuity Festival took place.

There’ll also be live music at many of the destinations. The Sparx City Hop is free.
