Cleveland’s No Exit New Music ensemble presents concerts in a variety of mostly nontraditional venues, featuring different configurations of musicians, playing contemporary (and often newly composed) music.
This week No Exit clarinet player Owen Hirthe will pair with flutist/composer Hong-Da Chin, who plays in both Western and Chinese styles, for an evening of music at Appletree Books in Cleveland Heights’ Cedar-Fairmount neighborhood.
They’ll perform solos and as a duo, incorporating Chinese instruments in a program that features music by both American and Chinese composers. The one-night-only program is free and open to all.
