Celebrate All Things Slovenian at the SNPJ Farm Grape Fest

Sun 9/23 @ 2PM

The SNPJ Farm in Kirtland has another Old World-style celebration going on with its Slovenian Grape Festival, celebrating Slovenian culture, costumes, food and drink.

It kicks off with a polka parade in which all are invited to don a Slovenian costume and participate. There’ll be a sing-along when the parade steps off at 2:45, with accordion player Tony Fortuna at the head and the Poka Hall of Fame’s Joe Valencic providing song sheets, as you parade into a pavilion decorated with grapevines and hanging treats. Paraders should arrive at 2:15 and admission is free with a costume or accordion.

After that, the Joey Tomsick Orchestra will play music for dancing from 3-7pm, and you’ll have to do a lot of dancing to work off the Slovenian sausage, roast beef, homemade donuts and other goodies available. Food is served starting at 2pm.

Regular admission is $8; 18 and under are free. That includes all the balinca (bocce) you can play.
