The thing about snakes is you either love them or hate them. When the chance to pet a snake arises, half of you will eagerly step up and the other half will leave the room.
For the former half, the Geauga Park District is hosting reptile day at Frohring Meadows Katydid Lodge. There members of the Northern Ohio Association of Herpetologists (NOAH) will have a variety of snakes and lizards for visitors to meet, up close and personal. They’re eager to share information about these critters: what they’re like, how they live, what they contribute to our ecosystem and why you should be happy and not freaked out to see a snake slithering through your garden. You’ll earn about how to breed, care for, and protect reptiles and amphibians.
It’s an all-ages program, suitable for kids. It’s free; register here.
