Cleveland-Raised Writer Mike DeCapite Comes Home to Read from His New Book at Visible Voice

Wed 11/27 @ 7PM

Author Mike DeCapite was born and raised in Northeast Ohio, the son of novelist/playwright Raymond DeCapite. So writing was in his blood.

The hardscrabble voice of Cleveland comes through in his work, even though he left in 1985 at the age of 23 to move to London, and later, San Francisco and New York. His poetry, essays, short stories and novel Through the Windshield, which he self-published in 1998, are redolent with the sensibility of the Rust Belt, wherever they might be coming from.

He’ll be previewing his newest book Jacket Weather in a reading at Visible Voice Books in Tremont. He’ll be joined by Cleveland poet Zenaida (Zena) Smith, author of the collections Fracture, Take No Prisoners, Pull No Teeth, Shake Hands; Siding with Desire, and Ticks.

It’s free and open to all.
