Don’t assume the best of our region will survive without your intentional support. And it’s always fun to attend a nonprofit’s annual benefit, where they pull out all the stops and your ticket price goes directly to their bottom line. Turns out, this week benefits are heating up.Skidmark Garage, the do-it-yourself, community garage for motorcyclists to work on their bikes, is holding a benefit for their kids education program. ROAM, Roots of American Music, hosts a benefit to support their programs using bluegrass, jazz & gospel to teach history, language arts and civics. Dancing Wheels holds their family-friendly A Night At The Races benefit to help their outreach and education efforts.
You can celebrateAbortion Provider Appreciation Day, sample a chili cook-off fundraiser at Art House Inc, assist education for youth at this quarter’s Akron ArtWalk, and sample dozens of local chefs during Cleveland Restaurant Week.
And don’t assume your favorite local journalism will be around if you’re not supporting it with your attention and advertising dollars. Or are you still sending your marketing dollars to Silicon Valley billionaires? Don’t get burned.
