Rock Hall’s Summer in the City Series Wraps Up with Alt-Country Singer Sarah Shook

Wed 8/22 @ 7-9PM

This year’s Summer in the City series of free concerts at the Rock Hall wraps up its season with Sarah Shook & the Disarmers, a North Carolina-based alternative country/Americana ensemble.

Singer/songwriter/guitarists Shook formed several regional bands before starting the Disarmers in 2013. They released their debut Sidelong in 2015 and the growing buzz eventually landed them a contract with Chicago-based indie Bloodshot Records, one of the most respected alt-country labels. It re-released Sidelong last year and put out the band’s second album Years earlier this year, launching a round of touring and giving them their first significant national exposure.

Sharing the stage will be Cleveland band the Whiskey Hollow, fronted by guitarist/vocalist/songwriter Maddie Finn, whose dark, potent vocals have a touch of the blues.

Food and drink will be available for purchase on the plaza, and you can meet CoolCleveland editor Anastasia Pantsios who will be selling and signing her photography book, Girls to the Front: 40 Years of Women in Rock.
