The Music Settlement Hosts an Open House at Its New West Side Campus

Sun 8/26 @ 1-4PM

It’s been a long time coming. But if you frequently drive by the high-profile corner of West 25th and Detroit Avenue, you’ve seen a massive mixed-use building rising on what used to be a parking lot. And among the things in the building is the new west side campus of The Music Settlement, whose longtime base is in a mansion on the back of the Case Western Reserve campus I University Circle.

But TMS, which offers music education for all ages and skill levels from people who go on to become professional musicians to those who make music only for themselves, already has an outpost on the west side, just a couple of blocks from its new facility. At the end of 2013, the owners of former jazz club The Bop Stop donated the building to The Music Settlement. Since then it’s hosted a nearly daily schedule of concerts, showcases, recitals, jam sessions and other events.

That will continue, as the new campus allows TMS to amplify the scope of its activities and expand the base it serves. Come celebrate with the 106-year-old institution and check out the new facility at its open house today. It’s free and all are welcome.
