Resonanz Opera Brings Together Pros and Students for a Summer Season in Lake County

Tue 6/12 & Fri 6/15 @ 7PM

One of a number of small but ambitious small opera companies in northeast Ohio, Willoughby-based Resonanz Opera gives high school interns the opportunity to work alongside seasoned professionals, gaining actual experience. Aspiring young local singers, beginning pros and opera veterans make up the casts of these operas and interact with each other.

The group opens its summer season this week with two evenings featuring Act Ii of Richard Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde and Act III of Giuseppe Verdi’s Rigoletto — the one where the title character’s daughter manages to sing an aria while mortally wounded.

They’ll perform at Lawrence Upper School in Sagamore Hills on Tue 6/12 and at the Mentor Civic Amphitheatre on Fri 6/15. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for students and seniors.
