The Musical Theatre Project Presents a Musical About Cleveland Icon Superman

Sun 4/14 @ 2PM

Mon 4/15 @ 7:30PM

The Musical Theater Project has joined with Kent State University’s Musical Theatre Program for its next offering It’s a Bird … It’s a Plane … It’s SUPERMAN!

Directed by KSU’s Terri Kent, and featuring members of the program, audience members will hear the singing superhero from the 1966 Broadway show of the same name, with music penned by Charles Strouse and lyrics by Lee Adams who also collaborated on Bye Bye Birdie. The witty book was written by noted script and screenwriters David Newman and Robert Benton. Its plot involves a ten-time Nobel Prize loser who wants to destroy all the world’s goodness (no, not Donald Trump: he was never actually nominated for the prize).

The performance will be prefaced with a short multimedia presentation by The Musical Theater Project’s Bill Rudman and Nancy Maier, along with Kent.

There will be two performance: at Kent State University Sun 4/14 and the Breen Center for Performing Arts in Ohio City Mon 4/15. Tickets range from $14-$38.
