After the hurly-burly of the holidays has quieted down — the leftovers are in the fridge, the wrapping paper is in the garbage, the boxes have all been taken over by the cats — it’s time to let out your breath and just do something relaxing and restorative.
One such thing is the 12th annual holiday revival at the Music Box Supper Club, featuring the upbeat, sunny grooves of Carlos Jones & the P.L.U.S. Band and Big Ship. Jones’ roots reggae band is a fixture at outdoor summer concert series and festivals for good reason — they make every day feel like the ultimate summer day. And they’ll be bringing some of that summertime warmth to a cold December night. Big Ship’s vibe is equally ebullient, with its jam-band grooves and bassist Dreadlock Dave McDougald’s enormous smiles.
