Learn About Overlooked Women in Art & Music in Library Program

Mon 5/24 @ 2:30-3:30PM

For centuries, the restrictions on women and the roles they were assigned in society limited their ability to practice creative arts such as painting and music. And if they did create, often their output was downplayed or even credited to men. History is rife with such stories.

Join Betty Zak in a program called “They Broke the Glass Ceiling,” presented by the Mayfield branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library as she shares stories of women composers, performers and artists who challenged Scott Joplin, Michelangelo, Caravaggio & Brahms.

You must register for the free virtual program; you’ll be sent the Zoom link about an hour before the starting time. There’ll be staff available about 15 minutes prior to the program to help with connection issues. Call 440-473-0350 with questions. Register for the program here.
