Cleveland Asian Festival: Next Year in AsiaTown, This Year on YouTube

Sat 5/22 @ 10:30AM

Yes, we’re all frustrated as we go into a second year of our favorite festivals being cancelled, or in the case of the popular Cleveland Asian Festival, normally hosted each year on Payne Avenue outside the Asia Town Plaza, taking place as a virtual event.

It may not be quite the same as watching dancers, musicians and martial arts specialists in the performance tents, browsing the booths looking at crafts, kimonos and tchotckes, and cruising through the expansive food lot, smelling the enticing aromas and trying to decide what to eat.

But if you’re not totally burned out on sitting in front of your computer enjoying events at a distance, you can tune into the Cleveland Asian Fest’s YouTube channel to learn about Asian foods and culture, watch performances and hear from special guests about what’s happening in Cleveland’s Asian community. And if their talk about Asian food gets you hungry, they’re encouraging you to visit one of the three dozen or so vendors who’ve participated in the past, most of whom are open for business, both dine-in and carry-out.

Subscribe to the YouTube channel here and they’ll let you know when they go live. You can also donate to the work they’re doing to promote the northeast Ohio Asian community. Go here.
