Americana Trio Lula Wiles Brings Brand-New Music to Riverdog Gallery

Sun 2/24 @ 7:30PM

Isa Burke, Eleanor Buckland and Mali Obomsawin began singing folk music and playing fiddle tunes at camp in Maine when they were young, years before they became the Americana trio Lula Wiles. The band itself came together later at Berklee College of Music and in Boston’s roots music venues.

They released their self-titled album in 2016, launching them on a round of touring that took them abroad and to major folk festivals. They released their sophomore album What Will We Do last month on Smithsonian Folkways Records, and this one will promptly bring them to Northeast Ohio where they’ll perform at Oberlin’s Riverdog Gallery and you can soak in their homey vibe, with guitars and fiddles circling their three-part harmonies, and their sharp, heartfelt original songs, occasionally spelled with a traditional tune.

It’s a $17 donation at the door; you can make a reservation via Riverdog’s website. Lorenzo’s will once again be there with their $9 pizzas, but as usual, you’re welcome to bring your own food and drink and there will be complimentary snacks.
