Everyone’s Invited to Near West Theatre’s Community Open House

Sat 10/6 @ 6-10PM

Since its inception 40 years ago, Near West Theatre has always been about community. Its mission was (and is) to bring together people of all ages, genders, races, ethnicities, abilities, socio-economic levels and theatrical skill levels to perform together and make a joyful noise onstage.

So it’s no surprise that they’re kicking off their season at their Gordon Square home with a community open house, partly to celebrate the work of their performers and volunteers, and partly to welcome any newcomers who want to step inside their doors.

There’ll be all sorts of activities including performances by NWT actors and games on the plaza in front of the building, a DJ dance party, musical theater sing-alongs with live piano accompaniment and even a selfie station with costumes and props from NWT’s storehouse. Local restaurants Rincon Criollo and Ninja City will be selling food on the plaza.

There will also be door prizes, a special announcement “and additional surprises.” You’ll have to be there to find out what they are!
