Chris Register is a man in search of America. That’s what his project Conversations with US is about. He’s also a dedicated cyclist, so he travelled cross-country on his Surly Long Haul Trucker touring bicycle, covering 16,000 miles and hit 49 states, while interviewing some 400 people for his book, which he says will be a multi-volume project.
Now, with the first volume hot off the presses, he’s headed back out on a book tour, and that tour will be hitting Cleveland this week. He’ll be making an appearance at Visible Voice Books in Tremont, where he’ll be signing copies of Conversations with Us.
But before that, you can join him at 6:30pm for a short ride from Joy Machines Bicycle Shop at W. 25th and Detroit along the Towpath Trail to the book store. And stick around afterward for some folk/bluegrass music from Good Morning Bedlam, starting at 8.
