Cleveland’s Community Greenhouse Partners Offers CSA Featuring Weekly Greens

Through Fri 4/5

Are you one of those people for whom a CSA — one of those weekly shares of produce from an area farm — is just too much food or too expensive to commit that much money upfront for food for an unpredictable mix of items for the next five months? Or maybe you always end up with a pile of odd vegetables you’re not sure how to use.

Then maybe the Community Greenhouse Partners CSA would be more up your alley. The urban farm, started on a shoestring back in 2012 by Tim Smith, a man with a uncompromising vision and stubbornness to match, grows greens year-round which it sells at the Coit Road Farmers Market, as well as several of the outdoor summer markets. Their delicious microgreens are a specialty.

For only $200 upfront, you’ll receive a weekly share that includes two full heads of lettuce, a bag of salad or cooking greens such as spinach, arugula or kale) and one box of sunflower or pea microgreens. That’s all stuff most of us use regularly so it won’t be sitting around, and it’s stuff that’s best fresh.

Deadline for orders is Fri 4/5; you’ll receive weekly shares from Sun 5/12 through Sat 10/5. Weekly pickup locations include the Coit Market Wednesdays and Saturdays @ 8am-1pm; the Tremont Farmers’ Market Tuesdays @ 4-7pm, the LEAF Market in Lakewood on Thursdays @ 5-8pm; and the farm at 6527 Superior Avenue, Monday through Saturday@ 8:30am-4pm. Delivery is available for an extra $4 per delivery.
