Yes, the ultra-conservative black political operative is a straight ho. There are sex workers who prostitute their bodies, but Candace Owens falls into another class: She’s a mental prostitute, she sells her mind, and white Republicans are her biggest tricks. They eat up her rhetoric as if it were gospel and attempt to hold her up as some kind of spokesperson for black Americans, which is completely opposite from the truth. She speaks for no one but herself.
In a recent appearance on Capitol Hill in front of a congressional committee she stated, “White supremacy is indeed real, but despite the media’s obsessive coverage of it, it represents an isolated, uncoordinated and fringe occurrence within America,” In other words, we blacks are obsessed over something that is of little consequence, at least according to Owens.
When other witnesses took the opposite view but declined to state a specific number of deaths caused by white supremacist violence, Owens called it “hilarious” that no hard numbers existed, causing a bit of an uproar. What virtually everyone in the chamber knew was the reason there are no hard statistics on the number of deaths is that the Trump Administration has elected not to compile them, just so right-wingers like Owens can make the kind of provocative, asinine statements that she regularly attempts to get away with recklessly spouting off.
Over the last few years (since she switched from being a progressive operative to become the black darling of the right), she has described Black Lives Matter protesters as “a bunch of whiny toddlers, pretending to be oppressed for attention,” and has argued that African Americans have a “victim mentality” while referring to the Democratic Party as a “plantation.” Of course, she’s not the first conservative black political commentator to make this and similar observations; Larry Elder, Armstrong Williams and other coons who are on the payroll of the right knowingly tell the same lie — that the left has done little to improve the lives of blacks.
However, what their illogical line of reasoning — which is getting pretty old and trite by now — conveniently omits is the “why” of the meager gains blacks have realized. They will never, ever admit that any lack of black progress in America has everything to do with white conservative Republicans assiduously and effectively rolling back gains made by minorities on a regular basis, not due to lack of attention from the left.
These blacks prostitute themselves to move to the front of the political line and get financially rewarded in the process. Their reasoning is, “Why should I languish in relative obscurity as a Democratic commentator when the Republicans will instantly make me a *star* and pay me better?” All they have to do is sell out their race.
There was a time when I knew a few black Republicans that I respected for being men and women of conscience, integrity, and probity, but those days are in the distant past. In this age of hyper-partisanship that was ushered in by the election of tRump, there are more than a few white Republicans — as well as evangelicals both black and white — who now eschew being associated with the right since conservative thought in America is being twisted into something vile, ugly, and ultimately dangerous. And, sadly, Candice Owens is allowing herself to be used in such a disgusting manner.
But hey, I guess a ‘ho has got to get paid, right?
