The NEOMFA (North East Ohio Master of Fine Arts) program is a creative writing program co-hosted by the University of Akron, Kent State University and Cleveland State University. It encourages writers in a range of literary genres including poetry, fiction, playwriting, essays and more.
If you’re curious about what members of this program produce, come to Visible Voice Books on Thursday evening, June 11, for an evening of readings by five of the program’s alumni. They include poets Carrie George, Jessica Jewell, Benjamin Anthony Rhodes, and fiction writers Isaiah Hunt and Alexandra Salata, most of whom have been published in small journals and many of whom are also educators. The program is hosted by Lindsey Maple, herself an Akron-based writer.
The event is free and open to all. Get more information about the writers here.
