Cleveland’s LatinUs Theatre, based at the Pivot Center in the Clark-Fulton neighborhood, was founded by Monica Torres in early 2018 to showcase the range of theater work being done by Hispanic playwrights and give that community the chance to see their lives and interests reflected onstage. And this week, it’ll be opening its 17th production, La Versión Infinita.
We’re told that it “follows the story of Lilian, a dedicated insurance sales employee who harbors dreams of becoming an astronaut and walking on the moon.” When she gets a call from someone with a voice identical to her own, her world is turned upside down. It’s described as a combination of “science fiction, humor, and existential questions that invite us to think about all the lives we don’t live.”
It opens Friday September 26. Following the Saturday September 27 performance audience members are invited to stick around for drinks and snacks and the chance to meet the cast. Get tickets here.
