Walk All Over Waterloo to See Art and Hear Music

Work by Julie Langsam

Fri 6/2 @ 5-9PM

There are both new and continuing shows in the mix at the month’s Walk All Over Waterloo.

Making its debut at Deep Dive Art Projects informer Clevelander/former CIA painting chair Julie Langsam’s Selections from Landscape Interventions: 500+Drawings. The gallery tells us that “Through her 35-year career, Langsam has examined issues of beauty, idealization and the notion of the sublime, as well as the interconnected legacy of stylistic tropes, in work that spans painting, drawing, filmmaking, photography, and printmaking.”

This exhibit is based on images from two three-month trips the artist took across America, featuring stills from a film she and her cinematographer shot. The gallery will be open from 5-8pm on June 2; the show will be on view through August 13

Also opening is Collective Remedies at Kink Contemporary, a group exhibit curated by Abby Cipar. It features four artists from Milwaukee, Pittsburgh, Athens, Ohio and Helena, Montana, “reflecting on queerness, trans and nonbinary identity, objectification, commodification, societal expectations, and censorship, among other topics.” It’s on view through July 7. More information here.

In addition, shows are opening at Waterloo Arts (Words of Love by S. LeDonne and a there-artist show called Interior Landscapes) at William Busta Projects, featuring the work of two week-known area artists, Dexter Davis and Lori Kella; and Pop Life, where Morgan Bukovec’s Be Here Now Opens.

Tommy Lehman & Hubb’s Groove will be playing at the Waterloo Tower Stage @ 6-8pm, and you can stroll over to the Millard Fillmore and catch MoKo BoVo @ 8pm.
