Burning River Roller Derby Is Back, at a New Location in Cleveland Heights

Guess who is back from pandemic exile? It’s those feisty, intrepid skaters who make up the flat-track roller debt organization, the Burning River Roller Derby. They’re telling us they’ve now got more skaters than they have in years, so not everyone can participate on their travel teams, the Burning River All-Stars and Hazmat Crew. To address this, they’re re-starting their home teams to give skaters who aren’t on the travel roster more opportunity to play.

They’ll start this week at a new venue for the group, the Cleveland Heights Community Center. Since they’ll only play a single game, ticket prices are a little lowers: $15 for adults, $8 for seniors and $5 for kids 6-12. They’ll play a double header with the Cleveland Guardians Roller Derby team there on Saturday June 10 at regular ticket prices ($20, $13 and $9). Burning River’s home team will again compete in a double header on Saturday July 15 for their final games of the summer season, also at regular double header prices.
