Swingin’ Ensemble Red Light Roxy Kicks Off Summer at Mentor’s Wildwood Manor

Wed 5/31 @ 6:30-8PM

Cleveland’s Red Light Roxy bring the fun to summer music events, with energetic swing-infused pop straight out of the ’40s and ’50s. Their music fills the dance floor in every venue they play, as they lay down skillful renditions of selections from the Great American Songbook and other standards. You might hear tunes such as “over the Rainbow,” “The Girl from Ipanema,” “On the Sunny Side of the Street” or “What a Difference a Day Made.”

The group is fronted by sassy vocalist Eileen Burns, an engaging frontwoman as well as a strong vocalist. And she’s backed by some of the town’s top jazz musicians: pianist Joe Hunter, bassist Demetrius Steinmetz, guitarist Daris Atkins, drummer Holbrook Hiles III and sax player Dave Sterner. So they make this a great listening band for those not inclined to hit the dance floor.

They’ll be playing a number of informal, family-friendly community concert events this summer, kicking off this week with one at Wildwood Manor in Mentor.

Check out their concert schedule here.
