Roots/Alt Country Artist Milly Raccoon Opens Riverdog Barn Season

Fri 5/26 @ 7:30PM

Nashville-based fiddler/singer/songwriter Milly Raccoon (not her real name) is originally from Pittsburgh and has a strong northeast Ohio connection: she’s an Oberlin College graduate.

After that, she put on some miles: she moved first to Seattle where she got hooked on bluegrass and converted her classical violin training into fiddle playing while picking up mandolin and ukulele as well. She also spent a year and a half on the road busking before settling into Nashville’s roots/Americana/alt country scene and developing a style that blends all her diverse influences.

She’ll be kicking off the season at the Riverdog Barn near her old Oberlin stomping groun where she’ll be plying with her five-piece band, the New Normal.

“The tents are up and they’re ready to go!” the Riverdog folks say. Inside tix are already sold out but you can sit outside and bask in the scent of summer settling on the fields and woods in this rustic venue. And it invites you to bring your cooler and picnic basket and enjoy some food and refreshments while you listen. Go here for tickets.
