Kent’s Who’s Your Mama Earth Day Environmental Festival Is Back

Sat 4/22 @ noon-4PM

Once again, for the 17th year, Kent’s Standing Rock Cultural Arts is presenting its “Who’s Your Mama?” Earth Day and Environmental Art Festival, taking place in downtown Kent.

There’ll be music and art activities all afternoon, with eco-friendly vendors and information tables by groups such as the Portage Park District, the Kent Environmental Council and Composting and Humanure. Akron’s Shawn Cook plays at 1pm, followed by music and a parade led by Canton’s En-Rich-Ment Drum Line (bring your own drum if you like!) featuring youth from En-Rich-Ment’s classes and programs at 2pm and music by The Experiment from Planet Earth at 3pm. Bill Starcher will have his large recycled tire sculptures.

In addition there’s a bicycle raffle and a $100 cash prize for the winner of a “dress up like an animal or an eco hero for the parade” contest winner. It’s free and open to all. Go here for more information.
