In the late 1990s and the first decade of the 2000s, two of the top hitmakers of the ’70s and ’80s, Billy Joel and Elton John, toured together as part of an evening that couldn’t possibly have stuffed in all the hits these two superstars made.
Now some (not all!) of those hits will be part of an evening presented by the Cleveland Pops Orchestra,. They’ll be joined by an ensemble called Jeans n’ Classics, a group that tours classic rock and pop repertoire with orchestras across the country. Expect to hear hits such as “Piano Man,” “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road,” “Just the Way You Are,” and “Rocket Man,” and a whole bunch of others you will recognize, with the added oomph of an orchestra. And the concert takes place at beautiful Severance Hall.
