Baldwin Wallace Students Perform Coming-of-Age Musical at Playhouse Square

Fri 3/31 @ 7PM

Sat 4/1 @ 4PM and 8PM

Sun 4/2 @ 7PM

Once again, the Baldwin Wallace University music theatre program and Playhouse Square are collaborating (for the 16th year!), giving these elite students a taste of performing in a Broadway-style setting, something many of them will be doing after graduation. And it gives the senior Arts Management and Entrepreneurship students the chance to gain experience in a professional setting.

The musical they’ll be performing isn’t very well known but it’s an appropriate show for such a young cast. Damon Intrabartolo and Jon Hartmere Jr.’s 2000 Bare: The Musical, which has been performed at small theaters around the world, focuses on the senior class at St. Cecilia’s boarding school, as the cast of students searches for their own identities in the face of peer, parental and religious pressures and expectations.

The show will be directed by Laura Welsh Berg, a performer familiar to Great Lakes Theater audiences, who has recently become a member of the BW theater faculty.

Bare will have four performances Friday March 31-Sunday April 2. For tickets go to playhousesquare.org/events/detail/bare.
