There’s Plenty of Indoor Action at this Month’s Walkabout Tremont

Fri 12/9 @ 5-10PM

The monthly Walkabout Tremont second Friday event has gone indoors for the rest of the winter — no more outdoor vendors lining Professor Avenue, where they (and the shoppers) would get pretty cold.

Instead, you’ll want to check out the Walkabout specials in the area’s glut of eateries, bars and lounges, stop in its shops such as Visible Voice Books and Banyan Tree, and drop in its galleries to enjoy the art. 818 Studios is hosting a holiday artists market this Friday and next from 5-9pm where you can shop from more than a dozen local artists and makers (including gallery proprietor Barbara Merritt and a few you’ve seen outside) while enjoying hot chocolate, coffee and sweets.

Then head across the street to Kaiser Gallery and Cocktail Bar, have a drink and take in the new show Lateral Perspective by Ethan Samaha from 6-9pm. It’s a neon installation that’s said to “chang[e] the viewer’s perspective as they traverse the space.” Samaha, a graduate of New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University in 2021, has exhibited in Australia, Italy and New York.
