Local Women-Fronted Bands Play for Reproductive Rights at House of Blues

Grumpy Plum

Fri 12/9 @ 5PM

The benefit concert Rock the Halls, taking place at the House of Blues, features ten female-fronted acts from the area: TRUSS, Envoi, Grumpy Plum (pictured), Hello Luna, Detention, Megan Brautigam, Lilieae, Mr. Princess, Jessica Horvat and Solon, most of whom play various versions of heavier, punk- and hard rock-influenced music with a few more pop-leaning acts in the mix. And most are fairly new in the local music scene.

What they have in common, not surprisingly, is their dedication to women’s rights and the idea that women should be able to control their own bodies and lives, as much as men are. So the event’s proceeds will be split between two well-established groups who have been on the front lines of that battle for a long time: Pro-Choice Ohio and Preterm Ohio.

There’ll be music both in the Music Hall and the Cambridge room. Admission is $15 and it’s all general admission standing room. Doors open at 5pm. More info here.
