Seven Local Small Nonprofits Host “Getting to Know Us” Party

Mon 11/28 @ 5:30-8:30PM

Small grassroots nonprofits are always scrambling for recognition, resources and funding.

Now seven local nonprofits that serve youth and families have banded together to raise awareness and money. Good Strong, 10K Movement, NEO Black Health Coalition, CollectivExpress, Recess CLE, Refresh Collective and the Renounce Denounce Gang Intervention Program each offers program to help strengthen the wellbeing of residents in Cleveland, the country’s poorest big city, hoping to help change that designation.

They’re doing several events leading up to Giving Tuesday, something we don’t promote much because you should be giving to your chosen causes all year long! But if you’d like to learn more and find out if these groups could be your chosen cause, they’re hosting a party they’re calling CommUnity Monday night, November 28, at the King’s Church Event space in the Flats (2111 Center Street).

There’ll be dancing from 10K Movement, music by CollectivExpress, hip-hop performances by Refresh Collective artists, food demos by Food Strong, a game room hosted by Recess Cleveland, Interactive Art by the Renounce Denounce Gang Intervention Program, and $1 mocktails created by the EO Black Health Coalition. You can hang out with representatives of the groups who’ll be glad to talk to you about their passion and their mission and get you on board just in time for, gulp, Giving Tuesday (November 29.)
