Come to a Christkindl Market Inside a Huron Greenhouse

Sat 12/3 @ 10AM-5PM

Sun 12/4 @ noon-4PM

It’s a long way to April 1 when Mulberry Creek, the family-owned organic herb farm in Huron, opens for the growing season, and frankly, we can’t wait.

But to put a cap on their year and tide you over to spring, they’ll be open this weekend for a holiday Christkindl Market. “Our Christkindlmarkt is modeled after the European outdoor Christmas Markets only we’re warm & undercover!” they say.

That means it takes place inside their spacious retail greenhouse. It will be packed with area artisans selling handmade goods (including many gardening and nature-related items), including birdhouses, pottery, wooden toys, crocheted ornaments, driftwood art, vintage items, coffees, preserved flower jewelry, hand-painted garden art, body butters and “authentic German cookies.” Mulberry Creek co-owner Karen Langan will be offering herb & spice blends, immunity teas and mustards, and “Sea Witch” incense to get you through the cold months, and yes, there will be some plants available, ones well suited for the house, including herbs such as basil, rosemary, bay and cardamon.

The Huron High Troubadours will be doing some caroling, and Blue Ribbon Catering will be offering hearty German-style food and cookies, cocoa, coffee and mulled wine will be available as well.
