Cleveland’s Blazing River Freedom Band, formed in 2003, isn’t looking to challenge the Cleveland Orchestra or anyone else on musicianship: they invite anyone of any age or skill level who is LBTQ+ or an ally to join in the fun. Enthusiasm, love of music, and belief in equal rights for everyone are the only prerequisites.
They perform in events such as the annual Pride parade and do periodic concerts. This weekend they’ll be doing their winter concert at Lakewood Congregational Church. They’re be doing traditional holiday carols and other seasonal tunes. While admission is free, there’s a suggested donation of $10 if you can afford it.
