The Akron Art Museum regularly combines the work of some of the best local artists with work by national and established artists, including work from its collection. This gives them an opportunity to present programs where visitors can interact with artists and hear directly from them about their work and their practice.
Coffee with the Artists is one such program. This week, three area artists — ceramacist Kristen Cliffel, photographer/collagist/poet Michael Loderstedt and painter Timothy App — who all have work currently on display at the museum, will join associate curator Jeff Katzin, as the artists converse over coffee and then lead visitors up to the galleries to look at the work.
