After Three Years, Grape JAMboree Returns to Downtown Geneva

Sat 9/24-Sun 9/25

Yet another festival returns to the calendar after two dark years, and it’s one of the biggest in the Geneva/Ashtabula County area: the 57th annual Grape JAMboree, celebrating the area’s prominence in grape-growing and wine-making.

For two days, tens of thousands of people gather in downtown Geneva for contests such as grape stomping, pie-eating, a baby contest for newborns-ages 23 months and another for ages 2-4.

It kicks off on Saturday morning at 10am with a welcome and blessing ceremony with the Saturday parade at 1:30pm and the introduction of Miss Grapette and her court at 3:30pm. (There’s a parade Sunday too, at 2pm). Both days there’s music and other performers of all types, with festival questions from around Ohio joining Miss Grapette on Sunday at 3:40, when there’s also a church service on the stage at 10:30 and a gospel hour at 5:15pm.

And all day both days there’s food and drink available, crafters and vendors, rides and the JAMboree Art show. Admission is free. Go here for more info and a full schedule.
