The second Friday of each month is a good time to visit the Tremont neighborhood when Walkabout Tremont is talking place. Sure, if the weather’s nice, it gets crowded but that’s half the fun, running into people you know and meeting new people.

The neighborhood’s multitude of bars and eateries offer food and drink specials, galleries such as Kaiser Gallery and Doubting Thomas (both on Jefferson, just a block apart) have openings this month, and during nice-weather months such as this one, the street is a-buzz with activities: lots of visiting vendors set up along the sidewalks, performers (including musicians and belly dancers) and sometimes even a bubble-blower or an alpaca farm with animals to pet. The doors of St. John Cantius church will be open to admire its beauty interior.

Most of the action is along Professor Avenue, but you’ll find things going on elsewhere as well. Go here to find out what’s happening.
