The Tall Ships Sail Back into Town

The Tall Ships — restored and replica historical sailing vessels — are coming back to downtown Cleveland’s waterfront for four days, packed with all sorts of events relating to seafaring vessels.

It starts with the Parade of Sail at 4pm Thursday July 7, featuring seven traditional-style sailing vessels from the U.S., Spain and Canada, after which they’ll be they’ll be docked near the north side of the Browns Stadium. Then the festival village will be open starting at 9am, Friday-Sunday for food and beverages, a festival marketplace, hands-on crafts and other activities such as face painting for the kids, maritime exhibits, “Ask the Captain and Crew” forums, live entertainment including performances by Tom Mason & the Blue Buccaneers, and a fireworks display on Saturday evening. Shipboard tours and “sail aways,” 75-minute excursions, are also available.

General admission to the fairgrounds is $20; special events and tours are extra. Go here for tickets.
