Lantern Theater Celebrates July 4 With Historical Production at Dunham Tavern

Sat 7/2 & Sun 7/3 @ 2PM

The Lantern Theatre is known for its distinctive productions based on literary and historical documents. And now they’re back onstage just in time for their traditional July 4 performance.

In it they read the Declaration on Independence, and other documents and writings from the same area, including selections from Poor Richard’s Almanac, plus original scenes by playwright Eric Schmeidl, music and comedy. This year’s performances take place in the Gray Garden outside at Dunham Tavern Museum in midtown. There’ll be “festive refreshments” and fun for the whole family: a way to celebrate a patriotic holiday that combines entertainment and education.

Tickets are $20 and are available here.
