Free City Club Forum on Public Square Hosts New Cleveland Planning Director

Tue 6/28 @ noon

This summer once again, the City Club of Cleveland is hosting a series of free, outdoor forums on Public Square so people can drop by, maybe on their lunch hour, and hear local movers and shakers talk about how they’re trying to make good change here in northeast Ohio.

This week, the speaker is Joyce Pan Huang, who was named Cleveland’s Director of City Planning by new mayor Justin Bibb. She’s the first new person to hold the job in ten years and the first woman, another indication that fresh ideas are coming to City Hall. She previously did community development at MidTown Cleveland and last summer, spearheaded the weeklong mural-panting binge known as Cleveland Walls, which engaged both local and national artists in painting almost two dozen new murals.

Learn more about her, her ideas about urban planning and what she’s looking forward to doing in Cleveland. The discussion will be moderated at Shanelle L. Smith Whigham, SVP & Director, Community Relations & Corporate Initiatives at KeyBank.

It’s free and open to all. In case of rain, it’ll move indoors to Old Stone Church on Public Square. If you have a question you can tweet @TheCityClub or text 330-541-5794.
