Wade Oval Wednesdays in University Circle began their summer season on June 15, and will feature 10 evenings in all through August 17, featuring rock, Latin, soul and other genres of music.
But no Wade Oval Wednesday is more popular than its annual evening featuring Carlos Jones & the P.L.U.S. Band, with its upbeat, positive-vibrations reggae that embodies Cleveland summer. The band owns the Wednesday before July 4 and the combination of the music and fireworks packed the green expanse of the oval with picnickers, dancers, revelers and listeners.
WOW also features a variety of food vendors every week, as well as games and hands-on activities for kids. This one gets crowded through, so get down early to find a spot to put down your blanket or chairs and spread out your picnic. The event is free and family-friendly.
