Artist Angelica Pozo Leads Tour of Tremont Lincoln Park Tile Mural

Mon 6/27 @ 4-5:30PM

As part of Cleveland History Days — Friday June 24 through Sunday July 3 — there’s a full schedule of tours all around town, spotlighting interesting people, neighborhoods and projects.

Kick off the week of Monday June 27 by meeting at the gazebo in Tremont’s Lincoln Park for a program that will combine all three. It’s led by ceramic artist Angelica Pozo, whose home and studio are located in Tremont. She’s known for her public art projects that incorporate tiles that tell stories — she created the ceramic artwork at the Stephanie Tubbs Jones memorial plaza at Wade Oval and is currently developing a Jesse Owens community installation at the Rockefeller Park Lagoon.

She also led the community art project to create a tile mural in her “backyard” on Tremont’s Lincoln Park. She’ll share the background story in “Public Art, Local History, & Inclusive Community Engagement,” talking about how she got the community involved in collaborating to create the tiles showing dozens of local landmarks

It’s free and no registration is required. Just show up. For a full schedule of Cleveland History Days events, go here.
